Uninstalling Veyo & your data

How to remove Veyo safely, what is deleted, what is kept, and how to keep your products and customer designs if you plan to come back.

Read this before you delete anything. On WordPress, deleting the plugin permanently erases all Veyo data by default (catalog, print areas, saved designs, settings, files). OpenCart and PrestaShop keep it by default. Check the Keep data when uninstalling switch first, and take a backup if the data matters.

The one setting that decides everything

Open Veyo Personalizer → Settings → General → Data & uninstall and look at Keep data when uninstalling.

WordPress / WooCommerceOff — delete erases dataPlugins → Deactivate, then Delete
OpenCart 4On — data is keptExtensions → Modules → Veyo → Uninstall
PrestaShop 8/9On — data is keptModules → Module Manager → Veyo → Uninstall

On WordPress, the Plugins screen also tells you what Delete will do: look for the line under the plugin name that reads “Deleting keeps all Veyo data” or “Deleting permanently removes all Veyo data, files and license activations”.

What is deleted when the switch is OFF

  • Every Veyo database table ({prefix}veyop_*): catalog products, views and print areas, fonts, colors, cliparts, text styles, saved customer designs, design share links, customer uploads, settings, and the data of installed addons (pricing rules, templates, presets, print jobs…).
  • Veyo options, transients and scheduled tasks.
  • Veyo files: customer designs, uploaded images, production files and the addon vault. WordPress: wp-content/uploads/veyo-product-personalizer/. OpenCart: image/catalog/veyop and the storage/veyop folder. PrestaShop: img/veyop and var/veyop.
  • WordPress only: the link between each WooCommerce product and its Veyo catalog product, per-product addon settings, and the Design Studio page Veyo created — but only if you never edited it (a page you changed is left alone).
  • Your license activations for this site are released on the license server, so the key can be used on another site (see License & activations). This needs an internet connection at that moment.

What is always kept

  • Your store's past orders and the design information attached to those order lines.
  • Customer accounts and purchase history — these belong to your store, not to Veyo.
  • When the switch is ON: everything above is kept, and your license stays activated for this site.
Without the Veyo tables, old order lines still list the design, but the print-ready files and editable designs that lived in Veyo's folders are gone. Download the production files for any open orders before uninstalling.

Step by step

WordPress / WooCommerce

  1. Decide: keep or erase

Open Veyo Personalizer → Settings → General → Data & uninstall. Turn Keep data when uninstalling on if you might reinstall (or are only switching plugins). Leave it off for a full clean removal. Click Save.

  2. Back up (if you are erasing)

Export the {prefix}veyop_* tables from phpMyAdmin or with your host's backup tool, and copy wp-content/uploads/veyo-product-personalizer/.

  3. Deactivate

Go to Plugins and click Deactivate under Veyo Product Personalizer. This only pauses background jobs and design-share links; no data is removed, and you can re-activate any time.

  4. Delete

Click Delete and confirm. If the switch was off, Veyo erases its data and releases the license slot first; if it was on, nothing is removed.

Multisite: the cleanup runs once for every site in the network.

Force keep: add define('VEYOP_KEEP_DATA_ON_UNINSTALL', true); to wp-config.php. Veyo then never erases data on delete, whatever the switch says. Useful for agencies and staging clones.

OpenCart 4

  1. Check the switch

In Veyo Personalizer → Settings → General → Data & uninstall, leave Keep data when uninstalling on (the default) unless you want everything erased. Save.

  2. Uninstall the module

Go to Extensions → Extensions → Modules, find Veyo Product Personalizer and click the red Uninstall button. With the switch on, your data and files stay.

  3. Remove the files (optional)

Go to Extensions → Installer and uninstall the Veyo row. Do this only if you are removing Veyo for good — to upgrade, use Update Veyo instead, which never needs an uninstall.

PrestaShop 8/9

  1. Check the switch

In Sell → Veyo Personalizer → Settings → General → Data & uninstall, leave Keep data when uninstalling on (default) or turn it off for a full erase. Save.

  2. Uninstall the module

Open Modules → Module Manager, find Veyo Personalizer, open the drop-down next to Configure and click Uninstall.

Never click “Reset” on the Veyo module in PrestaShop. Reset is “uninstall + install”, and it drops every ps_veyop_* table without asking, whatever the switch says. Use Upload a module to upgrade instead.

Removing a single addon

Open Apps (WordPress) or Extensions (OpenCart / PrestaShop), find the addon and click Uninstall. This removes the addon's files and switches it off.

  • The addon's data is not deleted (pricing rules, templates, presets, print jobs…). If you re-install it later, everything is back. The data is only erased when the whole of Veyo is uninstalled with the switch off.
  • Addons you installed from a ZIP, including Custom builds, uninstall the same way.
  • Just want to pause an addon? Use the enable/disable toggle instead of uninstalling.

Moving to another domain or server instead?

You don't need to uninstall. Deactivate the license on the old site (how), move the site normally, and activate it on the new one. To clone Veyo along with a WordPress site, copy both the database and uploads/veyo-product-personalizer/.

Reinstalling later

If you kept your data, install the same (or a newer) package and Veyo picks up exactly where it stopped — products, designs and settings are all still there. You may need to re-enter your license key if activations were released.
