Cart Cleanup

What Cart Cleanup does

Every personalized add-to-cart stores a design record and preview images. Shoppers who never check out leave these behind, and over months they fill your uploads folder and your database. Cart Cleanup lists exactly those leftovers so you can decide what to remove.

A design is only listed when it was never ordered and no open cart still uses it. You pick the age threshold, select what to delete, and Cart Cleanup removes the record, its preview images and, on OpenCart and PrestaShop, the cart-side copy.

Features

• Only true leftovers are listed. Designs that belong to an order or to a cart that is still open are never shown, so you cannot delete something a customer still needs.
• Age filter. Show designs left in a cart for more than N days (30 by default) and adjust it any time.
• Clear table with previews. See the preview, product, date and file size of every design, with select and select all, and running totals of what you have cleaned.
• Safe deletes. Every delete is checked again on the server. A design that an order or an open cart started using since the list was shown is kept and reported as skipped.
• Complete cleanup. Removes the design record, its preview images under the uploads folder and, on WordPress, the Media Library attachment. On OpenCart and PrestaShop it also removes the cart-side copy.
• Fully manual. Nothing runs on a schedule. You decide when to clean, and developers get hooks after each design and file is removed.
• One addon for three platforms. The same package works on WooCommerce, OpenCart 4 and PrestaShop 8/9.

How to set up Cart Cleanup

1. Buy and install

   Download the addon ZIP from your Lemon Squeezy receipt or My Orders page and install it from the Veyo Apps screen.

2. Open Cart Cleanup

   Open Settings → Cart Cleanup in the Veyo admin and set Left in a cart for more than (days), then click Refresh.

3. Review the list

   Check the previews, products, dates and sizes. Designs that are in use are not listed.

4. Delete selected

   Select the designs to remove and click Delete selected, then confirm. Skipped items are reported if something changed in the meantime.

What shoppers see

Nothing. Cart Cleanup is a shop-admin tool and adds nothing to the designer, the cart or the checkout.

Using the Cart Cleanup page

• The table has the columns Design (preview, or No preview), Product, Added to cart and Size. Click a row or its checkbox to select it; the header checkbox selects all.
• The delete button shows how many designs and how much disk space are selected, for example Delete selected (3 · 1.2 MB). Deleting asks for confirmation and cannot be undone.
• After a delete you see how many designs and files were removed and how much space was freed, plus how many were kept because an order or an open cart now uses them.
• Two running totals at the bottom, Designs deleted in total and Disk space freed, are kept across cleanups.
• Only the oldest 500 matching records are checked per refresh. If there are more, the page says Showing the oldest designs only: delete some, then refresh.

Settings

A single delete request handles at most 500 designs.

What you get in orders and production

Nothing extra, and nothing is touched on real orders. A design is only listed when no order line and no open cart references it, because order pages and production downloads read an order’s design from the same record. See Orders & production files.

Data and privacy

• What it deletes: the add-to-cart design record, its preview images and cart thumbnails under the Veyo cart uploads folder, the WordPress Media Library attachment of those files, and on OpenCart and PrestaShop the cart-side copy. Files outside that folder are never removed.
• What it stores: one option, veyop_cart_cleanup_totals, with three counters (designs deleted, files deleted, bytes freed). No tables, no shopper data.
• Outside services: none.
• Uninstalling: removing the addon keeps its counters. Uninstalling the whole of Veyo with Keep data when uninstalling off erases the Veyo data. See Uninstalling & your data.

Troubleshooting

• The list is empty. You see No abandoned designs older than N days when every design is newer than the filter, ordered, or still in an open cart. Lower the number of days to look at fresher designs.
• Some designs were kept after deleting. The message kept because an order or an open cart now uses them means the shopper checked out between listing and deleting. This is the safety check working.
• “Could not load abandoned designs.” or “Could not delete the selected designs.” The request to your server failed. Reload the page and check you are still logged in as an admin.
• Disk space freed looks small. Only preview images and thumbnails are removed. Customer uploads and saved designs are not touched.

FAQ

Can it delete designs from real orders?

No. Designs referenced by an order, or by a cart that is still open, are never listed, and each delete is checked again on the server.

Does it run automatically?

No. Nothing runs on a schedule. You start every cleanup yourself.

What exactly is deleted?

The stored design record, its preview images in the uploads folder and, on WordPress, the matching Media Library attachment. On OpenCart and PrestaShop the cart-side copy is removed too.

Which platforms are supported?

WordPress + WooCommerce, OpenCart 4 and PrestaShop 8/9. It needs Veyo Product Personalizer 1.1.2 or later.

Installing, updating and removing

• Install: upload the ZIP in Apps (WordPress) or Extensions (OpenCart, PrestaShop), then enable it. See Install addons.
• Update: upload the newer ZIP over the old one. Settings and data are kept. See Upgrading.
• Remove: Uninstall on the addon card removes its files and keeps its data, so reinstalling restores everything. See Uninstalling & your data.
