The designer (shopper view)

What your customers see and can do on a product page, so you can set expectations, write support answers and decide which tools to switch on.

Shoppers open the designer from a Design this product button (product page, and optionally shop and category lists). The editor shows the product mockup, your print area, a tool sidebar and a live preview. On phones it switches to a dedicated mobile layout.

Tools shoppers get

Text

Add and edit text layers with any enabled font, size, color, outline and letter spacing. Text style cards are ready-made looks you define. Addons add curved text (Text Curve), effects and Smart Badges (Typography Pro) and a pre-filled first line (Default Text Layer).

Uploads

Customers upload their own images (PNG, JPG, GIF, WebP and SVG), then crop, adjust and apply filters. You set the maximum upload size and can require them to accept upload terms. Addons add PDF import, background removal, stock photo search and non-destructive cropping.

Elements (cliparts)

Browse your clipart library by category. Multi-color SVG cliparts can be recolored live, limited to your color palette if you choose.

Layers

A layer list for selecting, reordering, locking, hiding, grouping and aligning items, with snap guides on the canvas.

Views

Products with several sides (front, back, sleeves…) show a view switcher; each side has its own mockup, print area and design.

Product options and size chart

Extra choices such as size or material (set up in Products), a size chart pop-up and product info panel.

Team names & numbers

For jerseys and uniforms, a team dialog lets shoppers add one row per person with a name, number and size (sizes come from the product's Size attribute). The order quantity is set to the number of people.

Live price

The price updates as the design changes and can show a breakdown. It is always calculated on your server from your rules; the browser can't change it.

Preflight

Before checkout a panel can warn about low resolution, artwork outside the safe zone or outside the print area (see Preflight).

My Designs, saving and sharing

  • Save: signed-in customers save a design to their account and reload or edit it later from My Designs. Guests can design and check out normally; saving to an account is optional.
  • Unsaved work: if a newer draft is found in the browser, the designer can restore it automatically (a setting you control).
  • Share: a share dialog offers copy link, WhatsApp, Facebook, email and Pinterest. You choose which buttons appear.

Keyboard shortcuts

Shortcuts work when the cursor isn't inside a text box. On Mac use Cmd instead of Ctrl.

ShortcutAction
Ctrl + ZUndo
Ctrl + Shift + Z or Ctrl + YRedo
Ctrl + C / Ctrl + VCopy and paste the selected item (the copy is offset slightly)
Ctrl + SSave the design
Delete / BackspaceRemove the selected item
Arrow keysNudge the selected item 1 px (hold Shift for 10 px)

Controlling what shoppers see

Every tool can be switched off, and the look can be customized, under Designer in the admin: Appearance, Shopper Tools and Header & Footer. Details in the Admin guide.

Quick Personalization

For simple products (a name, a short message) the Design Templates addon can let shoppers personalize from a light panel on the shop grid or product card, with live pricing, without opening the full designer.
